More Chunk #2 Previews!

November 27, 2007

It's coming really soon... can you feel it? WarCry and Curse can, and have put up new previews of Chunk #2 to prove it.

Here's what WarCry had to say:

Chunk #2 looks like it will be a great update to Dungeon Runners. The game itself has undergone many changes since it launched and one of the most noticeable for me was the improvement of character movement. I'm not going to lie, I hate click-to-move. In a game where you need to click to interact with the environment, trying to pick something up and finding yourself magically running headlong into a pack of red con mobs when all you wanted to do was grab loot is frustrating. The improvement to the WASD movement was enough to make me take my character out of storage and start playing again.

And here's what Curse says:

NCsoft invited us down to Austin, Texas to check out some of the new stuff for Dungeon Runners as they prepare to blow chunks (patch new content) for the second time. While we were there, we were also let on to some tidbits of information on things to come after Chunk 2, so read on for that.

NCsoft will be adding in-game advertising to Dungeon Runners with the update, but is doing so in a non-intrusive way to the actual gameplay. Players will simply have a small banner ad at the top of their client -- outside of the play area -- as well as sometimes seeing minor ads during loading screens. The developers have tried to keep things light-hearted with the addition of funny comments on the loading screen. Third is a simple video ad that will be seen on login and logging out of the game. The good news is that Member accounts will not see any advertising what-so-ever; zilch, nada, nothing at all.
