Comic-Con Day 2B: The show
August 8, 2007
There I was, saying hello to everyone for the first time except Jeff. I met him the week before when he spilled coffee on some poor soul in Creative Services. In Karen’s office no less. We’re racking up a nice we-owe-Karen-big tab, aren’t we?
The team at the show included:
- Dan – Tall GM guy for Guild Wars aka Sunburn aka Oghma
- Alex – Comm. Relations on City of Heroes – aka Lighthouse
- April – CuppaJo from Tabula Rasa, and the busiest person at the show by far.
- Amy - GM on City of Heroes - aka Critters
- Jeff L – Not as tall GM, on Lineage and Lineage II aka LemonCobra
- Gina – Mandatory buxom hot chick *grin* Tabula Rasa
- Jeff – IT extraordinaire & professional debater
- Karen – Trade Show Wrangler – aka The MaKraken
- Neal - Lead Developer: Tabula Rasa aka “Dead Doorknob” when Richard & Starr read this.
Everybody did their thang well. The show had gone smoothly, with Guild Wars pets being a huge draw. Lineage II had had quite a few folks coming in for the in-game item signup already, and of course Tabula Rasa and City of Heroes were firing on all cylinders. Several of the crew had played Dungeon Runners for some time and had been talking it up for days by the time I got there.
We were right next to the Blizzard booth, but behind the one “wall” each of us shared. Not a bad gig—we were swamped with people the whole show. I started by giving away as many of the Dungeon Runners flyers as possible. Being an evil marketing guy, I had even taped one to my back because I have no budget for T-shirts. We had a good reaction from anyone who we talked to about the game.
Overall, a very good start for the show.
Now, I just need to find a place to sleep since I canned the Radisson bivouac.
